Anyone know why i cant use mods for 3ds minecraft?

How is everyone?

I can't use mods, anyone know why? whenever I try to use mods and try to make a new world it just says the world is corrupted and when I try to go back to the home menu it just straight up crashes and reboots the whole 3ds! I also have to change settings just to play anything!
