Honestly I think there are other games that make a better first impression, generations, colors, unleashed... Generations somewhat relies on nostalgia since all levels are remakes, but it has the best design IMO. Lost world is just FINE and won't leave a mark as a first game IMO.

I found it to be quite a nice game on the 3ds. I really liked the parkour mechanics, but I really disliked slow or puzzle based levels. Overall, I find it to be the best 3ds sonic game, if you don't count the ds lineup. My favorite sonic game on the ds has to be Sonic Colors.
