i had an epiphany So, the term 'Shut Up' is to rudely say to someone to be quiet or to not speak. But a teacher says to a class quiet 'down' and lets say, if a TV is too loud, you 'lower' the volume. So shouldent the term be 'Shut Down' not 'Shut Up'?

another throat update: so i went to a walk-in clinic yesterday. its not strepp throat. (thank goodness) just a virus or somthing, nothing major. not contaigus. ill be back at work tommorow after having taking the last 3 days off. phew!
